HKCEC Remains Venue of Choice for Launching Global Events

(21 March 2007, Hong Kong) New international trade shows continue to book the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), while its massive expansion project is underway. Four organisers from around the world confirm their leading trade exhibitions the first time in the HKCEC.

HKCEC’s Managing Director Mr Cliff Wallace said, “Adding to our international event portfolio, four new trade show organisers have confirmed launches for the HKCEC in 2007, namely Hong Kong Mode Lingerie, Rail Solutions Asia, GTI Asia Expo and Senior Lifestyle Asia. It is even more gratifying as these are all new exhibition themes for Hong Kong. With the organisers coming from France, UK, Taiwan and Hong Kong, the HKCEC has once again proved its position as Hong Kong’s strategic choice of venues for launching and hosting global events in Asia.”

Hong Kong Mode Lingerie (3-4 April 2007)
Chantal Malingrey, Executive Director Lingerie Division of Eurovet (a French trade fair organiser), said, “We choose to stage the second Asian edition of the body fashion trade show in Hong Kong because Hong Kong is a primary international city in Asia. Hong Kong is easy to reach from anywhere in the world. It has the largest international purchasing platform – the main location for regional head offices and buying groups with a huge and innovative distribution network.”

Hong Kong Mode Lingerie will focus on the winter collection of international lingerie and beachwear brands as well as high quality fibres, fabrics and production capacities.

Lucia Wong, Group Manager Trade Fairs of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd. (a Hong Kong fair organiser), said, “There is enormous potential in the market for products and services for the elderly in Hong Kong since the number of elderly is increasing every year. Game Time International (GTI) Asia Expo 2007 (7-9 November 2007)
Angie Huang, General Manager of GTI Magazine (a Taiwan trade fair organiser), said, “We decided to run the first Asian edition of our existing Taiwan GTI Expo – an amusement and gaming machine show in Hong Kong – so as to tap into the Mainland China and other Asia Pacific markets.
